Step 3 of 4:

Understand the Magic

What truly makes Capon Springs different from other resorts are all the “extras” that you just won’t find anywhere else. Operated by multiple generations of the same family, you are welcomed into a warm and caring atmosphere where everything is based on the honor system.   The set-menu and meal times mean all you have to do is show up when the bell rings!

When was the last time you and your family had an opportunity to completely “unplug” and spend quality time together?  Now imagine how great it would be that as your Capon experience draws to a close, you actually feel completely relaxed, restored, and reenergized- and already dreaming about your return!

NOTE: 2024 Opening Day is Thursday May 2nd! Current May/June Openings

We have settled into our winter routine here at Capon.  We’ve mapped out reservations for 2016 and the rates are posted on our website!   Since David Letterman has now retired, we thought it would be fun to have a Capon “Top Ten” of what you need to know in making plans for this upcoming season.

10.  Contrary to popular opinion, we don’t just lock the doors and head south for 6 months.  Most of us are here almost every day through the week.  We are always reachable by phone and by email.

9.  We already have a clear picture of how the entire 2016 season is shaping up.  You can contact us now to make reservations anytime from opening day (April 28) until our closing day in November.  Because we treat all of you like family, we don’t require deposits.  Most unusual in today’s world!

8.  Want to have Capon all to yourself?  Then you can join us at the beginning or at the end of our season when we have two weeknight stretches for you to enjoy exclusive use.   Reserve any number of nights from April 24-28 or November 6-10.  All you need is at least 75 of your closest friends to take advantage of these special customized stays.

7.  Our most popular Spring and Fall week night programs are water color with Fran Call (May 8 to 12; September 25 to 29); bridge with Jim Allen (May 22 to 25; September 11 to 14); Marti Ronemus’s Bridge Boot Camps (May 1 to 6; August 28 to September 2; October 23 to 28) and Isobel Meekins Quilting Class (October 2 to 6).

6.  We already have 3 weddings scheduled during our 2016 season.  It’s not too late to book yours!  Best opportunities are April 29 to May 1, May 6 to May 8 and September 30 to October 2.   And don’t rule out Labor Day weekend (September 4 to 7) if you can come for three nights!

5.  During the busy summer time of June and July it is still possible to make reservations for less than a whole week.  Those who plan to stay a greater number of nights or place their requests sooner, stand a better chance of getting the best combination of dates and locations.

4.  We have an “extra” summer week in 2016!  Because of leap year, 4th of July week is a week later and has opened up a wide variety of room selections from June 26 until July 3.

3.  If you have a large family gathering and are thinking of coming for 5 days to a week in the summer, we can still accommodate you during the week of July 10 to July 17.

2.  The Hygeia Bath House & Spa is celebrating its 10th Anniversary!  If you haven’t yet enjoyed the spa- maybe 2016 should be your year!  We will be letting you know what we have planned so you can make your reservations!

1… Capon’s theme for 2016 is “Coming Home”.  If you are a regular, someone that has not been back in awhile, or someone planning to come for the very first time, we want you to feel like you are a part of our ever growing family.   We want you to experience that special spirit that guests, co-workers and family have combined to create over these past 80+ years!

On behalf of the entire Capon family, we hope to see you in 2016!
