The 2024 Season runs May 2 through Nov 9 Fall Openings
This Winter’s Projects:
Along with all the little and big routine fixes and plumbing infrastructure, the Pavilion, Fairfax and Honeymoon all received significant enhancements this winter. First, the wonderful views from the back porch of each Pavilion room is now even more serene with the removal of all the Capon water lines that criss-crossed the creek.
The porch landing outside of room #5 Fairfax also received a face lift. Additionally, thanks to generous donations from Capon guests, the Honeymoon Cottage received an enclosed back porch as well as a new roof.
However, the biggest attention-getter for most people is the significant leveling efforts directed toward the Main dining room. While it still has the charm of a century old structure, waitress carts will now roll a little more evenly!
Gary’s future plans: “I have absolutely no desire to change what Capon is. Instead I want to do what is necessary to preserve what makes Capon special. We have got to modernize our infrastructure in regards to water and power distribution. There are new products and methods of doing things that can improve our aging systems. Being that we have buildings 150+ years old we will always be working to maintain these facilities, but I believe we can integrate modern building practices and not lose the charm of Capon.” Read more about Gary’s background here.
