Step 3 of 4:

Understand the Magic

What truly makes Capon Springs different from other resorts are all the “extras” that you just won’t find anywhere else. Operated by multiple generations of the same family, you are welcomed into a warm and caring atmosphere where everything is based on the honor system.   The set-menu and meal times mean all you have to do is show up when the bell rings!

When was the last time you and your family had an opportunity to completely “unplug” and spend quality time together?  Now imagine how great it would be that as your Capon experience draws to a close, you actually feel completely relaxed, restored, and reenergized- and already dreaming about your return!

Background: He started working at Capon in 1986 washing dishes in the kitchen.  After a brief time away, he returned in July of 1997 working in the maintenance department. He then moved to the golf course where he now supervises that operation.  He is married to wife Kelly and has son Daniel, a graduating high school senior in 2019.  He has been the Capon Springs Volunteer Fire Chief since 1991, becoming an Emergency Medical Technician in 1996. He has been running emergency calls at Capon and in the community ever since.

What do you love most about Capon?
Interacting with people and hearing their feedback

What motivates/inspires you?
Making the golf course look the best it can- I’m always looking at other golf courses.  Helping people where ever I can keeps me motivated.

Favorite spot on all of Capon Springs:
The view from White Cliff- I love all the mountain views, including from Sunset Lodge.
