Spend the season or summer as part of the Co-worker team!

With a plan to provide onsite staff housing in a variety of locations for up to 20 people, we are working with area hospitality and culinary internships as well as local learn/earn programs to hire motivated young people.  We have also partnered with a few firms that place overseas college students.

However, we can also look to our rich legacy of past guests, who not only already know the Capon experience, but are committed to its long-term success.

Since the 1940s, guests have supported Capon as part of the co-worker team.  Multiple generations have served as the “summer boy”, including Chris Caeser who currently is on Capon’s board of directors.  Another example is Marianne Greene, who worked two summers in the bakeshop and is now an active member of the Guest Council.  Others have served in managerial and leadership roles.

Isobel Meekins:

“As a long-time Capon guest, I always appreciated going “home” to Capon! Everyone at Capon is so friendly, the grounds and buildings are lovingly kept, and the peaceful feeling of home stays with me throughout every visit. When given the opportunity to work at Capon, I learned first-hand how much hard work goes into making Capon such a special place for everyone. “Working at Capon for the past two summers has been a great learning experience. Going into it I was unsure of what to expect because I’d only seen Capon from a guest’s perspective. However, I quickly found my place and made lifelong friendships with coworkers and guests whom I would not have met without this opportunity. Working at Capon has helped me become a better leader, solidify my work ethic, and much more. Capon has been my home away from home long before I started to work there. And I have found that it is because of my love for Capon that I have a different appreciation for the work I do. It truly does bring me a great deal of joy to have the capability of creating and maintaining the Capon we all know and love.”
